It's astounding being outside the United States and seeing just how foreign our system is the rest of the world. Alex(South African) was just complaining tonight that one of his friends who was in an accident and is paralyzed and she has to pay an awful amount of about $2500 a year. Shocking...in the states it'd be at least 10 times more. That's AFRICA.

Here in Korea? And remember, I'm not even Korean, I've been to the doctor. I went to see an ear nose and throat specialist. How far did I have to schedule in advance? Walked in. How long was the wait? 10 minutes. How much did I pay? 3 dollars. I got a one week prescription of 4 seperate pills. Total cost? 1 dollar and sixty cents.
4 dollars and sixty cents. How much would it cost me to see an ENT and get a week of 4 pills? $100? $300?

Where does the U.S. rank in Medical services? 32nd. Just above Slovenia.

One of the main things I've learned from having lived outside the U.S. is that our reluctance to OMG PAY TAXES FOR SERVICES shoots us in the ass. Although I should say our taxes probably wouldn't go up if we'd just stop with the retarded two thirds of a trillion dollar TERRORIST defense budget.

Ugh. Why am I not moving to Canada? I like the cold, I can live with hockey. I don't know...
